Matthew is a collaborative solution seeker with almost 20 years of experience in higher education IT. As the Blended Curriculum Lead in Teaching & Learning Technologies at Northwestern University, he develops and implements innovative programs and services to help instructors, departments, programs, and schools integrate educational technologies with their traditional face-to-face classes. He has provided faculty development, leadership, support, and guidance to faculty communities, including those leveraging data to improve their courses and others focusing on completing grant-funded digital learning projects of various sizes. He was inaugural event chair of Northwestern’s annual symposium of innovation in teaching and learning, TEACHx. Prior to his time at Northwestern, he was Senior Academic Technology Analyst at the University of Chicago where he helped create its first fully online certificate programs and MOOCs. With a background in creative writing, graphic design, and studio art, Matthew has taught college classes in bookbinding, design fundamentals, and web design.
